Scriptures for Favor

 



 

Definition of “Favor”:

Graciousness; kindness; goodness;

delight; pleasure; desire; well pleased;

mercy; beauty

 

 

Genesis 30:27 

And Laban said to him, “Please stay, if I have found favor in your eyes, for I have learned by experience that the Lord has blessed me for your sake.” NKJV

 

Genesis 39:4-6 

So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority. So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field. Thus he left all that he had in Joseph's hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate. NKJV

 

Genesis 39:21-23 

But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison. And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners who were in the prison; whatever they did there, it was his doing. The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph's authority, because the Lord was with him; and whatever he did, the Lord made it prosper. NKJV

 

Exodus 3:21-22 

And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be, when you go, that you shall not go empty-handed. But every woman shall ask of her neighbor, namely, of her who dwells near her house, articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing; and you shall put them on your sons and on your daughters. So you shall plunder the Egyptians. NKJV

 

Exodus 11:3 

And the Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants and in the sight of the people. NKJV

 

Exodus 12:36 

And the Lord had given the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they granted them what they requested. Thus they plundered the Egyptians. NKJV

 

Deuteronomy 33:23 

And of Naphtali (to struggle) he said: “O Naphtali, satisfied with favor, and full of the blessing (prosperity) of the Lord, possess the west and the south.” NKJV

 

Deuteronomy 33:24 

“Asher (happy) is most blessed of sons; let him be favored by his brothers, and let him dip his foot (messenger with glad tidings) in oil (the Anointing).” NKJV

 

Ruth 2:1-2 

There was a relative of Naomi's husband, a man of great wealth, of the family of Elimelech. His name was Boaz. So Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, “Please let me go to the field, and glean heads of grain after him in whose sight I may find favor.” NKJV

 

 

 

1 Samuel 2:26 

And the child Samuel grew in stature, and in favor both with the Lord and men. NKJV

 

1 Samuel 16:22 

Then Saul sent to Jesse, saying, “Please let David stand before me, for he has found favor in my sight.” NKJV

 

1 Kings 13:6 

Then the king answered and said to the man of God, “Please entreat the favor of the Lord your God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored to me.” So the man of God entreated the Lord, and the king's hand was restored to him, and became as before. NKJV

 

Esther 2:8-9 

Esther also was taken to the king's palace, into the care of Hegai the custodian of the women. Now the young woman pleased him, and she obtained his favor; so he readily gave beauty preparations to her, besides her allowance. Then seven choice maidservants were provided for her from the king's palace, and he moved her and her maidservants to the best place in the house of the women. NKJV

 

Esther 2:15 

Now when the turn came for Esther the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her as his daughter, to go in to the king, she requested nothing but what Hegai the king's eunuch, the custodian of the women, advised. And Esther obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her. NKJV

 

Esther 2:16-17 

So Esther was taken to King Ahasuerus, into his royal palace, in the tenth month, which is the month of Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign. The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti. NKJV

 

Esther 5:1-2 

Now it happened on the third day that Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the king's palace, across from the king's house, while the king sat on his royal throne in the royal house, facing the entrance of the house. So it was, when the king saw Queen Esther standing in the court, that she found favor in his sight, and the king held out to Esther the golden scepter that was in his hand. Then Esther went near and touched the top of the scepter. NKJV

 

Esther 7:3 

Then Queen Esther answered and said, “If I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it pleases the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request.” NKJV

 

Esther 8:4-6 

So Esther arose and stood before the king, and said, “If it pleases the king, and if I have found favor in his sight and the thing seems right to the king and I am pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to revoke the letters devised by Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to annihilate the Jews who are in all the king's provinces.” NKJV

 

Job 10:12 

You have granted me life and favor, and Your care has preserved my spirit. NKJV

 

Job 11:19 

You would also lie down, and no one would make you afraid; yes, many would court your favor. NKJV

 

Psalms 5:12 

For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield. NKJV

 

Psalms 30:5 

For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. NKJV

Psalms 35:27 

Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor my righteous cause; and let them say continually, “Let the Lord be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.” NKJV

 

Psalms 44:3 

For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, nor did their own arm save them; but it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, because You favored them. NKJV

 

Psalms 85:1-2 

Lord, You have been favorable to Your land; You have brought back the captivity of Jacob. You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people; You have covered all their sin. NKJV

 

Psalms 89:17 

For You are the glory of their strength, and in Your favor our horn is exalted. NKJV

 

Psalms 102:13 

You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come. NKJV

 

Psalms 106:4 

Remember me, O Lord, with the favor You have toward Your people. Oh, visit me with Your salvation. NKJV

Proverbs 3:3-4

Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoever finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the Lord. NKJV
