Seven Spirits of God include the Spirit of the Lord, Spirit of Wisdom, Spirit of Understanding, Spirit of Counsel, Spirit of Might, Spirit of Knowledge, Spirit of the Fear of the Lord. These are not only seven characteristics of the Holy Spirit, but seven actual Spirit Beings = Isaiah 11:2-4.

 

Shaddai = The Almighty God. Most Powerful. Referring to the One and Only True and Living God, Yahweh. The All-Sufficient One. The Many Breasted One (His provision never runs dry, and He is nurturing).

 

Shade from the heat = Isaiah 25:4

 

Shadow of the Almighty = Psalms 91:1

 

Shalom (Peace) = Isaiah 9:6. Definition of “shalom” means: Peace (inner peace); peace (from war); good health; deliverance; preservation; salvation; prosperity; safety; friendship; friendliness; well-being; happiness; good welfare; favor; wholeness; rest; completeness; soundness; quietness; tranquility; contentment; harmonious state of the soul and mind; covenant relationship with God; nothing missing and nothing broken.

 

Sharp two-edged sword goes out of His mouth and smites His enemies = Revelation 1:16, 2:12,16, 19:15,16,21. The two-edged sword is the Word of God (Hebrews 4:12), and Jesus is the personified Word of God in Revelation 19:13, and called The Word in John 1:1,14.

 

Shelter = Psalms 61:3

 

Shepherd = Psalms 23; Isaiah 40:11; Ezekiel 34:11-16; John 10:2-18,27-29, 21:15-17; Hebrews 13:20; 1 Peter 2:25, 5:4

 

Shepherd and Overseer of your soul = 1 Peter 2:25

 

Shepherd of Israel = Psalms 80:1

 

Shield = Genesis 15:1; Psalms 3:3, 28:7, 33:20

 

Shiloh = Genesis 49:10. Generally understood as denoting the Messiah, “the peaceful one,” as the word signifies (Easton's Bible Dictionary).

 

Shows acceptance to people, even if He does not approve of their deeds or lifestyle. He accepts the person as an individual = Matthew 11:19

 

Shows us great and mighty things we know not of = Jeremiah 33:3

 

Sing praises to His Name = Psalms 47:6, 68:4

 

Sings over you with joy = Zephaniah 3:17

 

Sinless = 2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 4:15-16, 9:13-14; 1 Peter 1:18-19, 2:21-24; 1 John 3:5

 

Smitten of God = Isaiah 53:4

 

Smoking flax shall He not quench = Matthew 12:20 (xref Isaiah 42:3)

 

So shall my Word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it = Isaiah 55:11

 

Son Given = Isaiah 9:6

 

Son of Abraham = Matthew 1:1

In Matthew 22:42-46 and Mark 12:35-37, the point Jesus was making to the Pharisees and Scribes is that in His humanity, He is of the seed and lineage of King David. In His Divinity (being eternal before the world began), He was in existence before David was born and David called Him “Lord” in Psalms 110.

Splendor = Psalms 45:3-4 says, “Gird Your sword upon Your side, O Mighty One; clothe Yourself with Splendor and Majesty. In Your Majesty ride forth victoriously in behalf of truth, humility and righteousness; let Your right hand display awesome deeds.” Psalms 45 is written about an earthly king and his bride, but is also Messianic in nature (especially verses 5-7) speaking of Jesus and His Bride. Verses 6-7 are later quoted in Hebrews 1:8-9. Psalms 45:3-5 is inferred to in Revelation 6:2 and 19:11-16.
