Fruitfulness by the Spirit

Fruitfulness by the Spirit

The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God = Isaiah 35:1-2.

Then the lame will leap like a deer, and the tongue of the dumb will shout for joy. For waters will break forth in the wilderness and streams in the Arabah. And the scorched land will become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water = Genesis 35:6-7.

Till the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the desert becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field seems like a forest = Isaiah 32:15.

I will open rivers on the bare heights, and springs in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land fountains of water. I will put the cedar in the wilderness, the acacia, and the myrtle, and the olive tree; I will place the juniper in the desert, together with the box tree and the cypress, that they may see and recognize, and consider and gain insight as well, that the hand of the LORD has done this, and the Holy One of Israel has created it = Isaiah 41:18-20.

Indeed, the LORD will comfort Zion; He will comfort all her waste places. And her wilderness He will make like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and sound of a melody = Isaiah 51:3

And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the Garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited = Ezekiel 36:35.

Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the Lord. Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes = Isaiah 54:1-2.

And, behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. And the Lord visited Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah as He had spoken. For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. And Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him — whom Sarah bore to him — Isaac. And Sarah said, "God has made me laugh, and all who hear will laugh with me." She also said, "Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? For I have borne him a son in his old age" = Genesis 21:1-7.

Following the Leading of the Spirit

Following the Leading of the Spirit

Faith involves taking action, as faith without works is dead (James 2:17,20,26).

However, you have to be led by the Spirit of what appropriate action to take, and the timing of when to step out. Faith is not to be confused with presumption or foolishness, or acting impulsively in the flesh.

If you step out of the timing of the Lord, then you are out of His perfect will and things won’t go quite right. Things may not work out like you thought and planned. The baby (promise) might be birthed premature, which causes complications.

First of all, if it’s a matter where you are not sure of what the will of God is and there is no clear-cut Scripture pertaining to your situation (such as moving to a new location or if you should switch jobs), then spend time waiting in God’s presence until you DO hear the Holy Spirit’s voice telling you what to do. Once you know what God wants you to do, then receive by faith the thing in which you are believing for. Then step out and take action, but as the Lord leads and when you sense the timing is right.

In matters pertaining to things that ARE clear-cut in the Scriptures of what the Lord’s will is (because His Word is His will), such as receiving healing, praying for the salvation of a loved one, family reconciliation, and being abundantly supplied with provision to be able to pay the bills and give generously—you don’t have to wonder what God’s will is in the matter. The Word is full of promises on those kinds of issues.

Just stand on the Word and confess (outloud) those promises from God’s Word. Meditate (think on, mutter to yourself) His promises. Believe you have received the promise. As far as taking action, be led by the Spirit. In some cases, be sensitive to His timing of when to take action. He will give you wisdom and lead you into what to do in each and every situation. Don’t compare your situation with someone else’s. God may have a different journey for each person to take.

There are some matters in life in which there is a combination of clear-cut Scriptures on the issue, yet at the same time there are no specific Scriptures giving you an exact answer. What do you do in these cases?

An example is marriage. God, who do I marry? Should I marry this or that person?

There ARE clear-cut Scriptures that instruct you on what characteristics to look for in a potential spouse, plus Scriptures teaching you God’s definition of love, how to be submissive and yielding to one another, Scriptures on purity and fidelity, the roles of the man and the woman, how to raise godly children, Scriptures on money management, and so forth. But you will find no Scripture telling you a specific person to marry.

In matters like these, you need to know what the Bible has to say about all of these issues. Based on what the Bible says, is it God’s perfect will for you to be unequally yoked? Would it be His perfect will for you to marry someone who displays bad fruit, and maybe you need to allow the Holy Spirit to help you purge the junk and baggage from your life too. Would it be God’s perfect will for you to marry someone who squanders money or likes to get drunk or does drugs? Would it be God’s perfect will for you to marry someone who dishonors and disrespects his/her parents and family because they will probably disrespect you too? The Bible is full of wisdom on these matters.

Then you need to wait in God’s presence until you do hear Him speak to you in regards to a specific individual, or when asking Him to order your steps so that you meet and come together with the person He has for you. Sometimes He has a specific husband or wife, and other times He lets us choose (but He will give you wisdom in choosing).

Here is another example. When I was in my early 20’s, I needed a new car. My other car was a lemon and kept on giving me trouble.

I had a specific new car model in mind that I was believing God for. I wanted a brand new Toyota Camry, 4 door sedan, automatic, cranberry exterior and interior, air conditioning.

I had done my research. I needed a car that would be reliable, last for many years, not excessively expensive to maintain, semi-luxurious interior, drive very smooth on the road and have a quiet engine, and easy for shorter people to drive.

Even though I didn’t have all the money to pay for the car in cash, I had faith that this car was already mine long before I got it. Based on my level of faith at the time and the fact that I was a young college student and working part time, it would have been foolishness (for me) to claim from God something that I didn’t really have faith for in my heart, such as claiming a brand new Mercedes or BMW.

The grace and faith God had given me was not at that level, but I did have faith for a Toyota Camry. My faith level and maturity level was not at a place of being able to take on the responsibility, payments and maintenance of a car such as a BMW. I’m still not at that place financially. The point is, is that you cannot believe and receive something from God that is beyond the degree or level of grace and faith you have in your heart (although God can increase your faith). Plus, you have to be realistic about things. I was too young and immature, at the time, to handle the responsibility associated with a high priced car, even if God had given it to me as a free gift.

I had been saving up money for my brand new Toyota Camry, and was planning on using it for the down payment.  One day I had the TV going in the background. A program on Christian television was on, and while I was listening to it, I wasn’t paying much attention to the broadcast. But then I thought I heard God (in my heart) speak to me such a ridiculous thing.

He told me to give away my entire savings account to missions, except for enough to keep the account open. I thought that this could NOT be God, after all I needed a new car. The other car, as I mentioned, was always breaking down (even sometimes while driving on the freeway) and I had long distances to commute back and forth on an almost daily basis on busy highways.

I pushed away those thoughts of giving away all the money I had saved, with the exception of keeping $50 to keep the account open. I was a generous giver of tithes and offerings, and to ministries (according to the amount of money I did have), but giving away my entire savings account was a whole other issue.

A couple of weeks had passed by and I was at church one Sunday morning. This was when I went to Family Worship Center in Concord, California. The pastor, Gary Gelnette, happened to receive a word of knowledge that very morning (although he didn’t know who specifically it was for). He said that there is someone there whom God spoke to recently to give away their entire savings account. You are not to give it to the church or other organization, but to give it to missions. It’s not a large savings account (I had less than $3000 saved). By keeping the money, it won’t save you (it’s not enough to live on). You’ve been resisting the Holy Spirit.  When you obey Him, then He will bless you.

As a young person in my early 20’s, that was a lot of money to give back then. But I did give it to missions. I gave the money cheerfully, and had faith that God would provide somehow for me to get my Toyota Camry. Every way in which I thought God would do it, He ended up doing it in a different way. To make a long story short, six months later (after obeying God and giving the money to missions) I drove off the car lot with my brand new Toyota Camry, automatic, 4 door, cranberry exterior and interior, with air conditioning. I had a tape cassette player installed of my choosing (that was back in 1989 before CD’s and DVD’s came out).

I had the car for about 17 years, and never once did it ever break down or overheat. The car was still in decent running condition (although needed some work done) when a man wanted to buy the car and has a brother who is a mechanic. He had the car fixed up in good condition for his daughter to use at college.

Thus, when God blesses, He blesses real good! Not only did He provide the money for me to pay for the car and the maintenance, but He blessed me with a car that always ran really well and it never gave me heartache. “The blessing of the Lord maketh rich, and He adds no sorrow to it” (Proverbs 10:22). Of course, the Lord helped me to choose wisely in the first place.

Sometimes God will ask you to do something that seems ridiculous—maybe to test your obedience, but ultimately to bless you.

My story isn’t saying that you need to give away your entire savings account to sow as seed to receive whatever you are believing for. You can’t buy blessings or answers to prayer, but there is a Biblical principle of sowing towards whatever it is you are believing God for. Sowing is not always in monetary forms. You can sow into people’s lives by acts of kindness. In my particular situation, this is what God asked ME to do (and my situation involved a financial matter). He never did ask me to do that again.

Just obey whatever instructions God asks you to do for whatever it is you are believing Him for.

Dream - Seasons Are About to Change

Dream

Seasons Are About To Change

I received this dream on the same night that Benny Hinn spoke on seasons changing.

In October of 2003, I attended a Benny Hinn crusade in Fresno, California. The Holy Spirit ministered to deep areas in my life.

The evening of October 16, 2003, after the service was over and I returned to my hotel, during the night the Lord gave me a prophetic dream concerning a change of seasons that's coming. This spoke personally to situations in my life, and I believe that this dream was a word for many in the Corporate Body of Christ.

Perhaps this prophetic dream may speak to some situation in your life in which you are believing to see God bring about a breakthrough.  I'm in the process of learning how to properly interpret dreams, so my comments are what the Lord showed me He is going to do in my life. If it speaks to your life, then receive it unto yourself as well.

I shared this dream with a friend of mine, and it was a confirmation of what the Lord had been speaking to my friend's life.  Their situation was different, but God kept on saying to them: “New Season”.

Scene 1: Cloudy. Sky looks bleak. A storm has just passed. Clarity is impaired.

Scene 2: Clouds begin to dissipate as Sunshine peeks through. Eventually the clouds fade away, and there is full sunshine and clear blue skies.

Scene 3: Spring time. A beautiful green tree with new buds. Gentle rain showers fall on the tree, and then the lush green tree is filled with ripe, mature fruit that's ready to eat. The fruit is large, beautiful and healthy looking (no damages from devouring insects or from harsh weather).

Scene 4: Fruit has been harvested from the tree.

You may be in a cloudy season right now in your life. Things may look bleak. But there is hope and assurance that this season will be short-lived, and the sun will come out.

You will not remain in your cloudy situation. God is bringing you out. Much sunshine is in store.

Where there was once confusion and difficulty in hearing God's Voice and seeing in the Spirit with clarity, the clouds shall be parted and you will be able to see and hear clearly. The fog shall clear up.

Where there was sadness, mourning and depression—there shall be gladness and rejoicing. You shall again dance and play your tambourine with joy, like you did in your youth.

Where there was a heavy burden of stress and anxiety, the load will lift and lighten. The enemy of your soul tried to take you out, but God stepped in. The Lord breathed fresh life into those dry bones and gave the command, saying: “Hear the Word of the Lord, O dry bones, and live!”  And revivification came.

Great fruitfulness and productivity is in store. Those delayed promises you are believing God for shall be answered and fulfilled. Abundance and blessings shall be yours. You shall blossom out and flourish. Complete health and healing shall be yours. You shall be lush and green like the tree. The gentle rains of the Glory of God shall descend upon your life, and the Spirit of God will bring refreshment and rejuvenation. A greater anointing is coming.

Spring is coming to your life. A resurrection of old, and dead, dreams shall take place. New life, and double restoration is coming. You shall possess your promised land. You shall have tremendous joy.

God has been working in your life so that you would produce good fruit (the fruit of the Spirit). The Lord has been at work ripening good fruit in you so that one day you would be able to feed others, and be used of God to harvest lost souls. God turned the past pain around in your life so that the day would come when you would be able to help others and minister God's healing.

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning (Psalms 30:5). Hope deferred makes the heart sick; but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life (Proverbs 13:12). The Living Bible words it this way: “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when dreams come true at last, there is life and joy.”

The season has shifted. You have come out of your winter season and have entered into a new season of Springtime, where there will be blossoming, fruitfulness and growth. The promises of the Lord are coming to pass in your life. You will rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory! You will receive a double portion anointing, and double portion blessings and prosperity as your inheritance!

God bless you and keep you.

David's Tabernacle and Moses' Tabernacle

David’s Tabernacle and Moses’ Tabernacle

Tabernacle of David

Tabernacle of Moses

·                 Based on God’s grace and mercy.

·                 The Presence of God the Holy Spirit.

·                 Foreshadowing of the finished work of Christ on the Cross and being redeemed from the curse of sin.

·                 Located on Mt. Zion in Jerusalem.  Zion symbolizes the place of God’s presence, favor, mercy, grace, glory, peace, prosperity, freedom, joy, enjoying green pastures and milk and honey (blessings), a personal relationship with the Lord, and knowing God’s ways.

·                 Based on spiritual sacrifices (such as praise, obedience, holiness, lifting up holy hands).  There were animal sacrifices performed, but outside the tent where the Ark was housed.  There was a greater emphasis on the condition of one’s heart than on offering sacrifices (“obedience is better than sacrifice”). David’s Tabernacle speaks of the finished work of Jesus Christ on the Cross, when He shed His Blood for the redemption of mankind.  And through His Blood, we can enter boldly into the Holy of Holies.

·                 No Veil guarding the Ark.  The priests could enter the Holy of Holies every day, day and night, and worship the Lord and offer up prayers and intercession.

·                 Based on praise and worship that went on 24 hours a day, such as music and the many forms of praise and worship (speaking, standing in God’s Presence, singing, dancing, lifting up holy hands, clapping, shouting, use of musical instruments, flags and banners, bowing and kneeling, and times of silence, soaking in God’s Presence and waiting on the Lord.

·                 The emphasis was more on having a relationship with God, more than with practicing rituals and sacraments (although there was a place for sacraments as well).

·                 Based on appeasing the wrath and judgment of a holy God.

·                 The Power of God (lightning, thunder, fire)

·                 Foreshadowing of eternal wrath (Hell and the Lake of Fire) to those who reject Jesus Christ, and the consequences of continually resisting the Spirit of God from doing His work of holiness in our hearts which leads to repentance from sin (for Revelation 21:8, 22:15 lists those who cannot enter into Heaven).

·                 Located at the base of Mt. Sinai.  Sinai symbolizes God’s judgment and wrath of sin, living in fear and bondage, legalism and rituals, striving very hard to keep the law (and there were hundreds of laws), punishment or execution for breaking any law, living in a wilderness, God seemed to them to be afar off (versus a personal God), they knew God’s acts (miracles) but did not know God’s ways (His heart) – with the exception of Moses, Joshua, Caleb, Miriam, Aaron and a few others.

·                 Based on animal blood sacrifices. The blood was sprinkled on the Mercy Seat in the Holy of Holies for propitiation of sin for the whole nation, as well as the blood sprinkled on everything in the tabernacle, and blood sprinkled on the priests.

·                 A thick Veil guarded the entrance to the Ark, and only the High Priest was authorized to go beyond the Veil into the Holy of Holies once a year.  If the High Priest was not properly anointed with the blood of an animal, or improperly dressed, or was irreverent in any kind of way, he could be immediately slain by God upon entering beyond the Veil.

·                 No singing, musical instruments or worship went on inside of the Holy Place, although the Altar of Incense is representative of worship ascending to God as a sweet-smelling perfume.

·                 Based on the many rituals and sacraments.
