The terms “pardon” and “forgiveness” means:

Forgiveness, absolution, exoneration, amnesty, mercy, acquittal, release, remission, absolve, let off, let go, excused, discharge, freeing, clearing, not convicting, exemption, liberation, pardon, clemency, pity, leniency, compassion, kindness, moderation, not harsh, sympathy, empathy, consideration, care, kind-heartedness, benevolence, warmth, understanding, identification, not indifferent, good will, friendliness, favor, helpfulness, generosity, concern, supportive, willingness, gentleness, thoughtfulness, humanity, charity, fellow feeling, responsiveness, mercy, mercifulness, blessing, blameless, reconciliation, settlement, resolution, reunion, cease fire, appeasement, bringing together, compromise, gathering, meeting, get-together, reunification, reimbursement, clearance, clearing, conclusion, decision, agreement, accord, concord, unity, harmony, bond, compact, promise, treaty, deal, contract, guarantee, assurance, potential, word, oath, pledge, vow, assure, confirm, engage, ensure.

To forgive someone means to drop the issue and let it go. Don’t keep harping over the same issue over and over again. Quit keep reminding someone of their failures or things they did to hurt you or how they abused or mistreated you.

Forget the past and move forward. Don’t seriously remember things in the past anymore. This is a new day, now it springs forth.  Give the past a burial. Don’t keep on reminding someone of past mistakes or how much they hurt you. Leave the past behind, and go into the future with a clear conscience.

Allow the force of love, mercy and compassion to spring up and bubble up in your soul. Ask the Lord to fill your heart with love and grace towards that person who harmed you or offended you or deeply hurt you.

People don’t always hurt somebody on purpose. Sometimes life happens and we offend others or they offend us.

It’s not that others pre-planned and set out to hurt us. It just happens sometimes in life.

But we have to learn to forgive and drop the issues and let it go, and forget about the offense.

We need to learn to extend grace and mercy and understanding to others. They may have not done something hurtful to us on purpose, or pre-meditated it.

They may have a very soft and pure heart and never intended to hurt us or cause trauma or anger in our lives.

We have to learn to show mercy and give others a break. Maybe they are sorry for what they did now, but they cannot go back in the past and redo things. Stop bringing up the past. Quit reminding them of something they did to really offend and hurt you.

Love in marriage involves two good forgivers.

Those who have been married for a very long time have faced situations along the way where they had to learn to forgive each other and work things out.

My parents, Robert and June Riley, were married for 55 years and 4 months before my mother died of heart failure and my dad died 14 months after my mother went, and he also died of heart failure too.

Over their long years of marriage, there were many offenses and hurts that happened, and sometimes arguments and fights. But they stuck together and never separated or got a divorce. They learned to talk out their differences or their grievances and forgive each other. They learned to drop issues and let it go and move forward in life. Some years for them were very happy years, and other years were tough. But they strongly believed in keeping and honoring their wedding vows, and learned to work out resolutions or compromises.

They learned how to make a deal with each other on issues where they could not come into agreement.

But they stayed together for over 55 years and never talked or brought up the “D” word (divorce). It never once entered their mind or their speech. They learned how to compromise, and work out deals with each other so both parties would benefit and their needs would be met.

They learned to become the best of friends, and always hung out together and went places together. They took many vacations together, just the two of them, and would travel around the United States after my brother and I were adults and had graduated from high school and could stay home alone.

One year, they boarded a train in British Columbia, Canada, and rode the train all the way to the East Coast. They thoroughly enjoyed looking out the windows and seeing such beautiful majestic landscapes of mountains and forests.

Once they were on the east coast, they took a flight home. They also visited Niagara Falls in New York, and stopped in Minnesota to visit the largest shopping mall in the world.

They had so much fun on their trips they took.

They learned in their marriage to do activities together that both of them enjoyed and were in agreement with.

When they were at home, my dad used to enjoy going to the gym everyday to work out. My mom did not enjoy the gym, but they were in agreement that he would do what he likes to do and she could do her own hobbies she liked to do.

My mother enjoyed doing interior decorating, painting walls, hanging wallpaper, nailing shingles to the wall, laying carpet and doing a professional job, installing a skylight in the bathroom, planting flowers outside in the yard, and other household projects.

My mom was skilled in interior construction work. She grew up with her dad being a carpenter and doing exterior carpentry work and doing roofing. She learned from her dad how to do construction jobs, but my mom specialized in interior improvement projects rather than hiring it out all the time.

My parents learned in their 55+ years of marriage to give and take. And to compromise with each other and work things out.

Both of them had different personality types and different ways of handling issues. They had to learn how to refrain from arguing and understand each other’s communication language.

My mom was the meek and mild personality type and agreeable personality type. My dad was the type of personality where he would get frustrated with things and then lose his temper often. But he would always apologize and say he was sorry, and sometimes would weep after he had an explosion.

They handled stress differently. Their personality types were different, but they learned how to forgive each other and walk in unity and harmony and be in agreement.

They learned how to work things out and not demand their own way. They learned how to love each other in each other’s unique love languages.

After mom died on July 4, 2019 from cardiac failure, my dad would often weep and wail really loud over missing my mom. He would be in the family room and I would be in the back of the house in my bedroom. He would wail for her quite often because he really missed her.

He only survived without my mom for 14 months, and then he gave up the ghost and died of cardiac failure too in a local hospital. He was only at the hospital for 5 days, but he would daily tell me and other friends that he was going to die and speaking a blessing over out lives.

Sure enough, on the 5th day in the hospital, what he spoke prophetically came to pass. He died of cardiac failure around 6:30 in the morning. The doctor called around 7:00 am to give me the news, and then I called my brother to let him know about dad’s passing.

We buried two parents just 14 months apart. It was a difficult time in our lives during that time. I still am grieving the loss of both parents although it happened in 2019 and 2020.

I look forward to being reunited with them when I get to heaven one day soon.

Prayer of Salvation

It is God's will that no one should perish (end up in hell), but that ALL should come to repentance.

For God so loved this world that He gave His only begotton Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God did not send His Son into this world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him would be saved.

The thief (Satan the devil) comes only for to kill, steal and destroy. But Jesus has come to give us life, and life more abundantly, until it overflows.

I urge you to come to the Cross today and receive Jesus as your Savior and Lord. He will wash away all your sins and make you as clean and white as fresh snow.

Please do not put it off for another time in the future. I urge you to not delay. Come to the Lord today and give Him your heart and life. He will save, and heal you and make you whole.

Please do not delay, because on this earth there are no guarantees that a person will wake up in the morning. Also, you could be driving on the highway and be involved in a major collision and be instantly killed. You may be flying in a jet or aircraft and the plane crashes and everybody is killed.

A person does not know the exact date that they will die. But the fact is that every person will eventually taste of death (unless you are translated to Heaven which is very rare and highly unlikely, although it could happen for a few that is. it happened for Enoch, Elijah and Elisha).

Come to the Cross today and do not delay. Time is of the essence. If you should die not knowing Christ, then you would perish and end up in hell. Eternity is a very long time. Do not play games with your salvation or takes unnecessary risks.

Just pray this prayer and mean it with your heart:

Dear Lord Jesus,

I receive You as my Savior and Lord. I give my life over to You. I believe that You died and rose again, and that if I call on the Name of the Lord I shall be saved.

I accept you into my heart right now, and confess that You are Lord and have risen from the dead and forever live to make intercession for me.

Thank You for washing my heart pure and clean and making me whole, and for giving me peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Thank You that now I am a new creature in Christ Jesus. The old has gone and the new has come.

And there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh (carnality and sin), but walk after the Spirit.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.

If you prayed this prayer, I believe you got born again and are now heaven bound and will be with the Lord forever and have eternal life. Your sins are now forgiven. You are accepted in the Beloved.

I would encourage you to find a good Bible based local church to help you grow in your faith, to learn the Word of God, to praise and worship Him, and to have fellowship with the saints.

Serving Christ is the best decision you will ever make.

Only Jesus can satisfy your soul, and only He can heal your heart and make you whole.

He will give you peace you never knew, and sweet love and joy, and Heaven too, for only Jesus can satisfy your soul.

God bless you!!!
