Genesis - Jesus Revealed in Every Chapter

Jesus Revealed

In Every Chapter of Genesis

Chapter 1: Co-Creator

Chapter 2: Marriage between a husband and wife is a picture of Christ and the Church.

Chapter 3: There will always be enmity between Jesus and Satan, and Christ’s seed and the devil. Jesus is the seed of the woman that crushes Satan’s head.

Chapter 4: The blood sacrifice that Abel offered is a picture of Jesus offering Himself as the Blood sacrifice for our eternal redemption.

Chapter 5: Noah’s Ark and the flood speaks of water baptism.

Chapter 6: Noah’s Ark speaks of Jesus. When we come into Him, we are saved from the flood of judgment, and from everlasting damnation.

Chapter 7: Noah’s Ark represents Jesus. We are saved from sin through Him, and given everlasting life.

Chapter 8: The dove is a symbol of the Holy Spirit, and the olive branch symbolizes the Anointing and Israel. When Jesus was water baptized, the Holy Spirit descended on Him like as of a dove.

Chapter 9: Jesus Christ became the fulfillment of the Covenant between God and the Jewish people.

Chapter 10: Jesus Christ came from the lineage of Shem (Jews).

Chapter 11: After Jesus ascended to Heaven, the Father and Son sent the Holy Spirit to earth on the Day of Pentecost. The Day of Pentecost was the beginning of the restoration of nations and people groups.

Chapter 12: When it says that the Lord appeared to Abraham, it was Jesus pre-incarnate.

Chapter 13: Jesus Christ would come from the seed of Abraham, and through Jesus all nations are blessed. The Lord has engrafted the Gentiles into the kingdom, and they are also now the seed of Abraham and co-heirs of the promise.

Chapter 14: Melchizedek is likened to Jesus Christ in Hebrews 7. He was both a king and priest of Salem, and he had no beginning, and his priesthood would last forever.

Chapter 15: Jesus Christ appeared to Abraham and spoke to him, and established the Abrahamic Covenant.

Chapter 16: The angel of the Lord who appeared to Hagar was actually Jesus Christ pre-incarnate, because she called Him “God”.

Chapter 17: Circumcision of the flesh was established as a token of the Covenant between God and the Jewish people. In the New Testament the token of the Covenant is circumcision of the heart.

Chapter 18: Jesus appeared to Abraham and told him that by this time next year, Sarah shall bear a son. He gave the promise. Also, He was merciful and would have spared Sodom and Gomorrah from destruction if there had been ten righteous people in the city (but there were not even ten righteous in the city).

Chapter 19: The Father and Son are both called Jehovah (or Yahweh). Verse 24 says that Jehovah #1 (Son) rained down fire and brimstone upon Sodom and Gomorrah from Jehovah #2 (Father in Heaven).

Chapter 20: Jesus is our defender and protector. He has the power to open and shut doors as He pleases.

Chapter 21: Jesus is seen as being faithful to fulfill the promise He made to Abraham. Sarah gave birth to Isaac, the promised son. Isaac’s name means “laughter”. His birth brought so much joy to Abraham and Sarah and those around them.

Chapter 22: Jesus is revealed as Jehovah Jireh, the Lord our Provider. Also, Isaac was a type of Jesus where he was willing to be slain to become the sacrifice. Jesus was willing to give His life for our redemption, and He was the Lamb who was slain and became the sacrifice for all mankind.

Chapter 23: Jesus’ body was placed in the tomb of Arimathea. The tombs were for wealthy people and those of importance, and Sarah was buried in a tomb or cave.

Chapter 24: The marriage relationship between Isaac and Rebekah is a type of the marriage between Christ and the Church.

Chapter 25: The body of Jesus was laid in Arimathea’s new rock-hewn tomb. Only people of importance, prestige and wealth were placed in tombs, as was Abraham.

Chapter 26: Like Isaac, Jesus was a man of peace and obedience to God.

Chapter 27: For He (Jesus) received from God the Father honor and glory, when there came such a voice to Him from the excellent Glory. “This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased.” Isaac is seen as giving his blessing to Jacob and Esau.

Chapter 28: Jesus is the One who spoke to Jacob in a dream and promised to multiply his seed and make him into a great nation.

Chapter 29: Jesus would come to earth as the Messiah from the tribe of Judah (the kingly tribe). In Revelation 5:5, Jesus is called “The Lion of the Tribe of Judah”. In Revelation 17:14 and 19:16, Jesus is called “The King of kings and Lord of lords”.

Chapter 30: Jesus interferes in the affairs of mankind and blesses them.

Chapter 31: Jesus is the angel of God who spoke to Jacob. He identified Himself as the God of Bethel.

Chapter 32: The man who wrestled with Jacob is Jesus Christ pre-incarnate, for He had the power to bless Jacob and change his name from Jacob (“trickster”) to Israel (“Prince with God”). Jacob saw God face to face and his life was spared.

Chapter 33: Jesus is seen as the Mighty One of Israel.

Chapter 34: Jesus is honorable and will not defile His Bride, but will present us with purity, without fault and blameless to His Father.

Chapter 35: Jesus appeared to Jacob as he worshipped God at Bethel and reinstated the Covenant He had made with Abraham, later passed on to Isaac. The spiritual baton had been given to Jacob.

Chapter 36: Jesus was the initiator of the prophecy that Isaac had given to Esau, and it was fulfilled. Esau now saw clearly that the Covenant blessing was Jacob’s, and that God had allotted the land of Canaan to Jacob’s posterity. Esau knew it wasn’t wise to strive against the Sovereign Divine will of God.

Chapter 37: Joseph’s life and experiences were the closest parallels to Jesus’ life.

Chapter 38: Jesus the Messiah came through the lineage of Judah, and Tamar is mentioned in the lineage.

Chapter 39: Joseph went through much suffering and even being confined to a prison before he was exalted as second in command and used as an instrument for the saving of Egypt and other nations of the world at that time during the severe famine. In the same way, Jesus Christ had to go through the suffering on the Cross and descend into hell to preach to the prisoners before He became our Savior. As Joseph was exalted to second in command over all Egypt, the Father exalted Jesus as second in command (2nd Person of the Trinity) over Heaven and Earth, and gave Him a Name which is above every name, that at the Name of Jesus every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that He is Lord.

Chapter 40: Jesus gives wisdom and revelation. He knows all things.

Chapter 41: Jesus blesses you double for all the adversity you went through, and causes you to forget your years of pain. You may not forget as far as it being wiped away from your memory, but there is no longer the sting of the past. It’s as if it happened to someone else.

Chapter 42: As Joseph was used by God to save Egypt, so also is Jesus our Savior. He has provided salvation for our sins and its effects.

Chapter 43: Jesus Christ is merciful, not treating us as our sins deserve. Joseph pardoned his brothers for the harm they had done to him.

Chapter 44: And Jesus prayed, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do”. They divided His garments and distributed them by casting lots for them. Jesus and Joseph felt the humiliation of their garment being removed from them. Joseph’s coat of many colors was ripped off of him, and his brothers slew an animal and dipped it in its blood, to take it home to their father so Jacob would think that a wild animal tore him to pieces. In this chapter, Joseph was testing his brothers to see if they had changed.

Chapter 45: After His death, Jesus revealed Himself to His disciples as the Resurrected Christ. Also, Jesus will be reconciled to the Jews (they will see Jesus as their Messiah).

Chapter 46: After being apart for many years, the Father and Son were reunited in Heaven. Joseph was apart from his father Jacob for many years, and then they were reunited.

Chapter 47: God will present saved Jews and Gentiles faultless before the Presence of His Glory with exceeding joy.

Chapter 48: Jesus is about to be crucified, and gives His last teachings to His disciples. He speaks of His leaving Earth and the Comforter (Holy Spirit) coming.

Chapter 49: Jacob prophesied that the scepter would not depart out of Judah until Shiloh came. Shiloh is another name for the Messiah. Jesus came from the kingly tribe of Judah and His reign shall never end.

Chapter 50: Joseph died in this chapter and gave the Israelites instructions about taking his bones back to the land of Israel and burying them in the cave where the Patriarchs were placed. Jesus died at the age of 33 ½ . He was buried in a new rock-hewed tomb close to Calvary. Only the prestigious and wealthy were placed in tombs. Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead and now the tomb is empty.

It is God's will that no one should perish (end up in hell), but that ALL should come to repentance.

For God so loved this world that He gave His only begotton Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God did not send His Son into this world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him would be saved.

The thief (Satan the devil) comes only for to kill, steal and destroy. But Jesus has come to give us life, and life more abundantly, until it overflows.

I urge you to come to the Cross today and receive Jesus as your Savior and Lord. He will wash away all your sins and make you as clean and white as fresh snow.

Just pray this prayer and mean it with your heart:

Dear Lord Jesus (if you are not able to call him Lord yet, then just say "Jesus")

I receive You as my Savior and Lord. I give my life over to You. I believe that You died and rose again, and that if I call on the Name of the Lord I shall be saved.

I accept you into my heart right now, and confess that You are Lord and have risen from the dead and forever live to make intercession for me.

Thank You for washing my heart pure and clean and making me whole, and for giving me peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Thank You that now I am a new creature in Christ Jesus. The old has gone and the new has come.

And there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh (carnality and sin), but walk after the Spirit.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.

If you prayed this prayer, I believe you got born again and are now heaven bound and will be with the Lord forever and have eternal life. Your sins are now forgiven. You are accepted in the Beloved.

I would encourage you to find a good Bible based local church to help you grow in your faith, to learn the Word of God, to praise and worship Him, and to have fellowship with the saints.

Serving Christ is the best decision you will ever make.

God bless you!!!
