Chapter 24

#2301 We will never walk in the fullness of health until we possess it by faith. George Pearsons

#2306 I am thriving, not just surviving. I am flourishing and not failing. I believe I receive supernatural provision, an unlimited, overwhelming supply that comes from above. Provision is coming to me from a higher place, in a higher way, from God’s riches in glory. I am not limited to this natural world. I expect God to provide. I believe all things are possible. My mind is being renewed to His supernatural provision, because He is my supernatural provider. In Jesus’ Name. George Pearsons

#2307 Stay in a constant state of “God’s open hand”. George Pearsons

#2308 Hebrews 11:1 tells us, "Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." We live out our faith in ways big and small—being patient in times of waiting and longing, praying for guidance when making decisions, loving our neighbors as ourselves (Mark 12:31), striking up a conversation with a stranger when we feel the Spirit's stirring, forgiving others, being aware of God's presence as we go about the day, bringing our questions and laments to Him, and so much more. What we believe in a spiritual sense lights the way for our daily choices and habits.

#2309 The kind of spiritual life and disciplines needed to sustain the Christian life are quiet, repetitive, and ordinary. I often want to skip the boring, daily stuff to get to the thrill of an edgy faith. But it’s in the dailyness of the Christian faith—the making the bed, the doing the dishes, the praying for our enemies, the reading the Bible, the quiet, the small—that God’s transformation takes root and grows. Tish Harrison Warren

#2316 We can look at Job, we can look at Lamentations, we can look at the Psalms, we can look at so many heroes of the faith who at different times had questions, who faced unbelief, yet God kept them, and they continued, in their doubts, to lean towards God, to lean and doubt in a way that continued to keep them attached to the vine and seeking Jesus in all of it. Laura Wifler

#2327 We can let go of burdens like condemnation and worry, perfectionism and insecurity. And we can cling desperately—even through tears—to the assurance that God knows, he cares, and he loves us with an infinite love. #2330 All I have seen teaches me to trust the Creator for all I have not seen. Ralph Waldo Emerson

#2331 To have faith in Christ means, of course, trying to do all that He says. There would be no sense in saying you trusted a person if you would not take his advice. Thus, if you have really handed yourself over to Him, it must follow that you are trying to obey Him. But trying in a new way, a less worried way. Not doing these things in order to be saved, but because He has begun to save you already. Not hoping to get to Heaven as a reward for your actions, but inevitably wanting to act in a certain way because a first faint gleam of Heaven is already inside you. C.S. Lewis

#2389 The forces that are for you are greater than the forces against you. Joel Osteen

#2390 Did you know that faith and expectation are not the same thing? I’ve had people say, “Well, if you believe, surely you expect,” but that’s not true. Although they are closely linked, faith and expectation are distinctly different. Mac Hammond

#2391 Many people have come to believe that the Bible is true. They have faith in promises such as 1 Peter 2:24: “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” They believe it’s a provision of the Word that God heals, but they don’t expect healing to manifest in their own lives. It’s almost as though they’ve been sick for so long that they simply cannot imagine they could ever get better. Mac Hammond

#2392 Now, faith does have to come first before expectation can exist. If you don’t believe that it’s the will of God for you to be healed, it’s highly doubtful you’ll expect to be healed. Expectation is built on faith, but faith doesn’t imply expectation is there. Faith can exist without expectation, but expectation can’t exist without faith. Mac Hammond

#2393 So faith comes first. When you read the Word, decide to believe that it is a revelation of truth. Next, look at your expectation. Do you really expect what you read in the Bible to happen in your own life? Do you really expect your boss to find great favor with you? Do you really expect to become heirs together of the grace of this life with your spouse, even if your marriage has been challenged with conflict and schism for years? You can and you should because your experience of life depends on it. Mac Hammond

#2394 For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off. Proverbs 23:18 KJV

#2395 Did you know that you can pray in tongues and receive understanding about your future? As we pointed out earlier, every time you pray in tongues, the Holy Spirit is praying through you the perfect will of God, sometimes for other people, often for your own life.  It is the Holy Spirit’s job to reveal God’s will to you for your life as you do so.

#2396 “Why can’t God just send some preacher to me who will tell me God’s will?” Look at 1 Corinthians 2:8. Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. (KJV) If the enemy would have known what God had planned for the future, he would have never crucified Jesus. The implication is the same for you. If the enemy knew God’s plan for your life, he would put up roadblocks and try to stop what God wanted to do. That’s why God is going to reveal His will to you this way. He will give you the interpretation of what the Spirit is praying about so you can get glimpses of His will and begin building images of your future on the basis of that revealed will.

#2397 For 40 years, every good idea and every good sermon I’ve had has come this way. I take time to refill my tank by praying in tongues during my time with the Lord in the morning. What am I actually doing? I’m speaking to myself in the Holy Ghost. I’m speaking in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. I’m speaking the perfect will of God for my life. As I continue knowing that I can interpret what He’s praying through me, I’ll begin to get ideas of what that will is, answers to problems, sermon ideas, etc.

What happens as you receive these ideas? Momentum is generated in that direction.

#2398 When we started this ministry years ago, I had a young man come to me and say, “I know I’m supposed to be an evangelist. I keep seeing myself preaching to 100,000 people in a football stadium. It almost seems stupid and foolish. I just got out of high school. I don’t have any training. I don’t know what to do next to take my life in that direction. Is this some kind of folly or deception I’m into?”

#2399 I said, “No. You’re on the right track. The more you refine that vision, the more momentum it will give to your life. Spend time praying about this in the Holy Ghost. Let God add little elements to this picture. How many hundreds of thousands do you see coming to get saved? How many people are getting healed? What do you see physically about the stadium? Refine the vision and see it as clearly as you can because it has the capacity to generate direction in your life toward that very thing, even if you don’t yet know what to do next week or the month after that. This is how God orders your steps to take you toward His plan for your life.”

#2400 It’s time we start talking to ourselves and clearly defining the imagery that is going to represent our future. Let’s picture our lives lived out God’s way as clearly as we can. When the enemy generates negative imagery through an evil report or through circumstance you’re dealing with, talk to yourself. Let it be the first thing you do. Look at what you’re facing and say, “No! I rebuke that. That’s not who I am in Christ. I know who I am. I am the healed. I’m not sick.”
