Exceeding Faith Quotes
Chapter 9
#801 Proverbs 18:21 “Death
and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its
fruit.” If you love the results you are getting, then keep saying what you've
been saying. If you don’t like the results of what you’re saying, then stop
speaking doubt, complaining and negativity. Begin glorifying Jesus. Bill
Hanshew
#802 Many people do not
believe that their words affect the end result or outcome of their lives. Yet
Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Bill
Hanshew
#803 The writer of
Proverbs 18:21 uses the expression, “they that love it….”. Love what? They love
what's been coming out of their mouths. What does it mean to love the words
that come out of a person's mouth? It means that you are unwilling to change what
you are saying. In the Hebrew it means that you love it “like a friend.” In
other words, we could say, “I love my words so much, that they are just like my
best friend and I'm not willing to give up my friend.” Some people love their
words so much, that they will not change what they say! Bill Hanshew
#804 If we are not willing
to change even in our words, then we are in defiance of scriptures that tell us
we are to be conformed (or transformed) to the very image of Christ. (Transform
means to change). “God saves us as we are, but doesn't want to leave us the way
we were when we came to Him.” God is not trying to control our lives, but
through His Word, He has given us the provision to be transformed. Romans 8:29
says, “For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image
of His Son.” Bill Hanshew
#805 His Word is saying,
“If you keep saying what you've been saying, then you will keep getting what
you've been getting.” You will “eat its fruit….”, meaning that you get the
reward of what you have been saying. Bill Hanshew
#806 Are you committed to
speaking words of encouragement, words of blessing, words that agree with God's
Word? Or are you committed to speaking words that tear down, words that
discourage you and others, words that do not agree with God's Word? Do you love
the fruit of what you are eating and experiencing through the words that come
out of your mouth enough not to change? Bill Hanshew
#807 Job 6:24 says, “Teach
me, and I will hold my tongue; cause me to understand wherein I have erred.”
You can learn to “hold {your} tongue.” You can learn to change what you've been
speaking. But, only you can make the decision to change. Bill Hanshew
#808 Proverbs 13:3 NLT
“Those who control their tongue will have a long life; a quick retort can ruin
everything.” A person, who does not control or guard their mouth, can destroy
their own life with their words. If you control or guard what you say, you can
literally protect your life and produce “long life.” Bill Hanshew
#809 Negative words only
serve to feed your mountains and make them larger. Bill Hanshew
#810 You may say, “What am
I supposed to say to the mountain (obstacle, problem, trouble)?” You are to
speak the written Word of God to it and tell the mountain to be gone. Bill
Hanshew
#811 God doesn't want us
to just barely get by in life. He wants us to thrive and experience the
fullness of His blessing. Not only does He want to meet our needs, He wants us
to be in a position to reach out and help meet the needs of others, too. Joel Osteen
#812 When we pray and ask
God for something, it opens a supernatural door. Our faith gives God something
to work with. Faith is what pleases Him. Faith moves mountains. Joel Osteen
#813 Did you know that it
pleases God when we pray bold prayers and ask Him for big things? God loves it
when we step outside of the realm of the possible and totally believe what He
can do. With God, all things are possible! Joel Osteen
#814 Today, I encourage
you to get bold with your prayers. Ask God for big things. Believe that He is
working behind the scenes on your behalf. Put your faith to work because God is
faithful. He has big things in store for you, and He says to ask Him! Joel
Osteen
#815 If you have an
attitude of faith, then you are continually looking upward for guidance. You'll
keep your eyes on Jesus. Practically, how do you keep your eyes on Jesus?
Through fellowship with Him. Simply by praying and keeping your heart open to
Him on a daily basis. (Not just on a Sunday basis - a daily basis!) Dr. Jesse
Duplantis
#816 If you keep yourself
aware of the presence of God, then you'll be more in tune with His prompting
and you'll be more confident taking action! You'll be walking the same path
many of the most successful people of God throughout the ages have walked. You'll
be walking by faith! Dr. Jesse Duplantis
#817 That is why I have a
really hard time understanding people who say they don't believe in “that faith
stuff.” The Scripture says plainly enough, “But without faith it is impossible
to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he
is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (Hebrews 11:6). Dr. Jesse
Duplantis
#818 So if faith pleases
God then what does lack of faith do? Well, I guess there is only one thing it
can do - it displeases God. Now that's strong, I know. But what many people who
disregard faith are really saying is that they don't believe in pleasing God.
And, to me, that simply means that if they are flatly refusing to please God,
then they are living in disobedience to His Word. Whew! Strong, huh? Dr. Jesse
Duplantis
#819 Matthew 17:20 and
Mark 4:31-32 is not talking about having “a little bit of faith”, but rather to
get your faith in a seed form and plant it, water it, and watch it grow into
something large. Harvest time is not instant or overnight, but it takes a process
of time to see your faith grow and the promise to be fulfilled. Mark Barclay
#820 Don’t overload your
faith. When you are inspired by someone else’s faith and see their results, the
tendency may be to do what they did. However, their faith was developed in that
area, and they stepped out in faith as the Spirit led them. If you overload
your faith, then it may fail. Work on developing your faith one day at a time
for whatever it is you are believing for. Jerry Savelle
#821 Faith is believing
that God has done
what He said He would do and everything you say and do is based upon that
belief. Larry Ollison
#822 Faith involves four
steps: hearing the Word, believing the Word, speaking the Word, and doing the
Word. Larry Ollison
#823 There are four
building blocks to faith: 1) God cannot lie. If you think He is not telling the
truth, then doubt exists, and you cannot receive from God when you doubt in
your heart. 2) We must know the Word of God, for it gives you faith, and then you
can rightly divide the Word so you know what God is saying. 3) We must speak
the Word of God. Jesus spoke to the storm and it calmed down. We can speak to
our mountains and tell them to be removed and it will be so. 4) We must act on
the Word. James 2:17 says that faith without works is dead. Larry Ollison
#824 God has given each
person a gift which can open doors of opportunities and bring in great
blessings. Maybe you are just not aware of that gift you have inside you, or
perhaps it has profited you nothing thus far as you have not found out how best
to use it. You need to take your gift and ask God for wisdom to cultivate it
until it becomes such a powerful tool or “precious stone” that wherever you
turn, you prosper. Joseph Prince
#825 One definition of
“grace” is unmerited favor.
Grace is not something you earn by works. In other words, you didn't do
something in order to receive the grace of God. Another definition of “grace”
is closely related to the first definition: the
favor of God. Favor in general gives you access into places where
others do not have access. Keith Butler
#826 Faith and grace
operate together; faith is the accelerator of grace. Faith accelerates the grace of God in
your life. If you need more grace, simply exercise your faith. Keith Butler
#827
When it comes to finding your
destiny, here's the key: Keep on praying. Keep praying until you know. Keep
praying so you can grow. Keep praying so you can go forth and fulfill the
glorious plan God has for you! Lynne Hammond
#828 Taking worry and
cares is really a form of pride. It shows you are dependent on your own self
instead of dependent on the Lord. Learn to leave your cares at the Lord's feet.
He can handle what you are facing. He will bring you through it! Lynne Hammond
#829 Don't focus on how
good a grip you have on God. Start thinking about what a good grip He has on
you! Lynne Hammond
#830 One of the names of
God is El Shaddai, the God of more than enough. We should be grateful that our
needs are met, we should thank God that we have enough, but don’t settle there.
That’s not your destiny. He wants you to have abundance so you can be a
blessing to others. Joel Osteen
#831 “Three things will
last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.” 1
Corinthians 13:13 NLT
#832 There is a difference
between speaking to your mountain, and speaking about your
mountain. Kenneth W. Hagin
#833 Speaking about
your mountain will magnify the problem in your mind. The problem will begin to
look bigger and bigger in your sight. But speaking to your mountain
keeps things in proper perspective. Kenneth W. Hagin
#834 When you put God’s
Word in your mouth, magnifying the answer above all else, speaking to
the mountain will cause it to move. Kenneth W. Hagin
#835 Jesus said, “For
verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou
removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but
shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have
whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire,
when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” (Mark
11:23-24 KJV).
#836 1. Take a day and
keep track of how many times you speak about the problem you’re facing.
2. Go to God’s Word—the Bible—and find out what it says about the
problem. 3. Begin to replace your words about the situation with God’s Word on
the matter. Kenneth W. Hagin
#837 Each time you start
to speak about the problem, remind yourself to speak to it. Tell
it to change and conform to what the Word says. Then, watch that mountain move!
Kenneth W. Hagin
#838 This world is framed
by the Word of God. He created it with faith-filled words. Charles Capps
#839 Hebrews 1:3 (KJV)
tells us that God is “upholding all things by the WORD of His POWER.” God’s
power is released in His Word! It holds everything in obedience to what He
said. Even the sun and the moon stay in orbit because of His Word. Charles
Capps
#840 When you proclaim the
Word of God over your life, you are framing your world with His Word. You are
making the decision to shape what you believe and confess by that Word. When
you do that, you allow faith to come. Charles Capps
#841 By faith you place a
demand on God’s Word, resulting in the promises of healing, health, life,
prosperity, blessing, joy and peace coming to pass. Charles Capps
#842 Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)
says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things
not seen.” Those promises (healing, health, life, prosperity, blessing, joy and
peace) are the “substance of things” that God has given you. Charles Capps
#843 Search the wisdom of
God—His Word—to bring about His promises in your physical body, in your
business, in your family, in your mind and in your bank account. Start now and
frame your world with faith! Charles Capps
#844 If it’s too late to
do what you should have done this year, it’s time for you to forget those
things that are behind and to reach forth unto the things that are before you
(Philippians 3:13 KJV). The word forget in that verse is the Greek word epilanthanomai,
which depicts something that is done with, accomplished, and no
longer an issue before you. Rick Renner
#845 The word behind
is the word opiso, which describes something as no longer having
relevance in your life. It is old, antiquated, outdated and no longer
applicable. The words reach forth are translated from the word epikteinomai,
which pictures a runner in a race, his eyes fastened on the goal as he runs
with all his might to the finish line. Rick Renner
#846 Rather than focusing
on things of the past that no longer have relevance in your life, it’s time for
you to “reach forth” unto those things that are before you. Rick Renner
#847 Psalm 23 begins, “The
Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want” (NKJV). I believe that one
sentence best exemplifies what THE BLESSING will produce in the life of a
believer. God desires that you experience THE BLESSING to the level that you
do not want for anything. Jerry Savelle
#848 God wants you so
blessed that you can’t consume it all on yourself; instead, you have to
distribute it. In other words, you are blessed to be a blessing. Jerry
Savelle
#849 This isn’t an
occasional occurrence, either. According to Psalm 68:19 (NKJV), the
benefits of His BLESSING are something you should expect daily: “Blessed be the
Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, the God of our salvation!” Jerry
Savelle
#850 What does a
benefit-filled life look like? Psalm 112:1-3 (NKJV) says, “Blessed is
the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments. His
descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be
blessed. Wealth and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness endures
forever.” Jerry Savelle
#851 That’s God’s promise
to covenant people—that THE BLESSING is for your entire family. So, get
ready! There will come a day when you and your children are blessed to the
point that you can distribute THE BLESSING to other families and prevent
misfortune in their lives, too. Jerry Savelle
#852 It’s time to believe
God’s Word and decree His BLESSING over you and your children every day, for 1
Corinthians 7:14 (MSG) says, “... they also are included in the
spiritual purposes of God.” THE BLESSING is for your entire family. You are all
blessed to be a blessing! Jerry Savelle
#853 When you build a
relationship with the Holy Spirit, the desires of your heart are shaped and
created in accordance with your delight in Him. Delight shapes desire.
You’ll find that foolish wish list will fall away as your desires are shaped
into His will. Creflo Dollar
#854 Once I delighted
myself in the Lord, my desires changed. And then my plans changed. John 15:7 (KJV)
says, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye
will, and it shall be done unto you.” When you spend time in God’s Word, that
Word settles inside you and shapes your desire—and that’s going to shape what
you ask for. Creflo Dollar
#855 God wants to give us
more than we can imagine, but too many times we accept less. Don’t accept what
you can gain by your own ability and power. Instead, put your trust…and delight
yourself…in Him. Creflo Dollar
#856 Jesus is your healer.
Do you believe that? God sent Him so you could be completely whole in every
area of life. Lindsay Roberts
#857 He fulfilled the
prophecy given by Isaiah which said: “But He was wounded for our
transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our
peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5, NKJV).
Lindsay Roberts
#858 So often, we focus on
the things in our lives that aren’t how we want them to be instead of focusing
on God’s goodness and promises—including His promise of healing. We forget to
thank Him for all He’s done and continues to do. Lindsay Roberts
#859 But the Word of God
tells us that when we fear the Lord and depart from evil, “it will be health to
your flesh, and strength to your bones” (Proverbs 3:7-8, NKJV). Lindsay
Roberts
#860 During this season,
take time to thank the Lord for His healing promise. Thank Him that Jesus was
made manifest to destroy the works of the devil, so you could be healed and
whole in every area of life. And know that when you praise Him, He is there
with you (Psalm 22:3)! Lindsay Roberts
#861 Jesus equipped us to
live supernaturally. He said, “And these signs shall follow them that believe;
In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they
shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt
them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (Mark 16:17-18,
KJV). Mark Barclay
#862 Some Christians have
been so “naturalized” that living supernaturally like that is hard to believe.
But casting out demons, speaking in tongues, laying hands on the sick—this is
all part of the empowered Christian life. Mark Barclay
#863 Really, it’s just a
trick of the devil. If he can’t get us to turn from the Lord, he at least wants
to make sure we’re ineffective. He’ll try to convince you that you need to live
a nice, quiet Christian life—go to church, drop in your offering, sing a few
songs and go home. He’ll tell you that you need to keep from rocking the boat,
and to put up with whatever the world throws at you. Mark Barclay
#864 But that’s not you. You’re
a supernatural being! You’re not a mere man or woman. You are
God-possessed. You’re the temple of the Holy Ghost. You’re enabled. You’re
empowered. You have the gifts of the Spirit. You have the armor of God. Believe
it. Mark Barclay
#865 Every moment of your
life is infallible proof of God’s love and work. Now is the time to receive His
full power and start walking in all He has for you. Don’t be ashamed. Now is
the time to live supernaturally. It’s time to live what you believe! Mark
Barclay
#866 Have you ever had God
tell you to do something, and you just didn’t want to do it? I remember back
when God spoke to me and said, “Start a church in New York.” I responded,
“Yeah, that ain’t happening.” Creflo Dollar
#867 I wasn’t interested
in being a preacher. Besides, have you seen my last name? I had a different
plan. I was going to play pro football and coast the rest of my life. But then
Psalms 37:4 became real to me: “Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall
give thee the desires of thine heart” (KJV). Creflo Dollar
#868 When most people read
that verse, they conclude that it means after they give the Holy Spirit their
wish lists, all they need to do is delight themselves in Him and—what do you
know!—they’ll get everything on their lists. Please. The Holy Ghost
isn’t Santa Claus, even if sometimes we treat Him like that. Creflo Dollar
#869 When you build a
relationship with the Holy Spirit, the desires of your heart are shaped and
created in accordance with your delight in Him. Delight shapes desire.
You’ll find that foolish wish list will fall away as your desires are shaped
into His will. Creflo Dollar
#870 Once I delighted
myself in the Lord, my desires changed.
#871 God wants to give us
more than we can imagine, but too many times we accept less. Don’t accept what
you can gain by your own ability and power. Instead, put your trust…and delight
yourself…in Him. Creflo Dollar
#872 I’ve heard people
say, as a matter of fact, “I don’t know why I’m not making it.” They forgot
that Proverbs 18:21 (KJV) says, “Death and life are in the power of the
tongue.” They have what they’ve been saying. Dr. Jesse Duplantis
#873 “Well, you know, Mama
had diabetes. Uncle Fred had diabetes. Grandma had diabetes. Grandma’s dog had
diabetes. Diabetes runs in our family.” Why, then, are you shocked when you get
diabetes? You believed the facts, and your faith worked. Dr. Jesse Duplantis
#874 It’s not a lack of
faith that keeps you from experiencing a healing miracle. That’s a lie the
devil has sold you. You don’t lack faith. God said He gives each man the
measure of faith (Romans 12:3). You just used up what you had and stopped
believing the truth. Dr. Jesse Duplantis
#875 See, you can’t just
store faith from years ago and use it when you need it. The Bible says in
Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God”
(KJV). Faith comes by hearing—that’s present tense. It’s ongoing.
You need to be strengthening your faith in the truth today. Dr. Jesse
Duplantis
#876 If sickness and
disease attack your body, that might be the facts. But the truth is that by
Jesus’ stripes you were healed (1 Peter 2:24). The truth is that the Word is
health to all your flesh (Proverbs 4:22). The truth is that He heals all your
diseases (Psalm 103:3)! Dr. Jesse Duplantis
#877 If you’re going to
live above the facts of life, you have to continually fill yourself with
the uncompromised truth of God’s Word. How do you start? You start by making a
quality decision, right now, to fill yourself with the truth of God’s Word on a
daily basis…and then believe it. Truth trumps fact every time! Dr. Jesse
Duplantis
#878 Are you upset,
worrying, or trying to make something happen? You don’t have to be! God has a
place of peace and rest for you, and all you have to do to enter His rest is to
put your trust in Him! Joyce Meyer
#879 Choosing an attitude
of faith will release peace out of your spirit and into your soul. Joyce Meyer
#880 Don’t be afraid to
wait with faith and patience, and not feel pressured to have an immediate
answer from God. Joyce Meyer
#881 Don’t complain. The
Israelites wasted forty years murmuring and complaining in the wilderness, when
they could have just obeyed God and entered into their Promised Land. Joyce
Meyer
#882 Don’t underestimate
the power of your words today. Line up your language with the heart of God, and
enjoy the sweet, delightful healing it brings! Joyce Meyer
#883 The world is going
faster and faster. People keep borrowing money to try and keep up with the
Joneses. Giving in to stress and pressure, they find themselves at the end of
their ropes. But God told us to enter His rest by faith. Mylon and Christi Le
Fevre
#884 In the natural, you
may not feel like you can do that. You may feel like you’ve tried everything
possible. Maybe you’ve tried positive thinking, changing your habits or even
pills. The problem is, you can’t just solve it in the natural. You need to look
to the Lord—because you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you
(Philippians 4:13). Mylon and Christi Le Fevre
#885 Just listen to what
Jesus Himself said: “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy
burdens, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28, NLT). Mylon and
Christi Le Fevre
#886 Do you hear what He’s
saying? Jesus wants to take your stress and pressure. He goes on to say,
“Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at
heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (verse 29, NLT). Jesus wants
you to rest in Him. Mylon and Christi Le Fevre
#887 The writer of Hebrews
said, “God’s promise of entering his rest still stands...For only we who
believe can enter his rest” (chapter 4:1, 3, NLT). If you believe in
God, this was written to you. You can enter His rest because you believe in
Him. It’s for you. Mylon and Christi Le Fevre
#888 The Apostle Paul
emphasized the importance of hearing and speaking so others hear you in Romans
10:14-15 (KJV): “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not
believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And
how shall they hear without a preacher? Keith Butler
#889 “And how shall they
preach, except they be sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of
them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”
There is power in speaking the Word! The only reason people come to a living
faith in Jesus is that they have heard it spoken by a preacher. You are
a preacher—whether you are called to the five-fold ministry or not! Keith
Butler
#890 When you declare the
Word of the Lord to others, you bring peace to their chaos. When you tell
others about Jesus, you announce glad tidings to their saddened state. When you
speak God’s Words, you speak beautiful things into ugly situations. Keith Butler
#891 Just a couple verses
later, Paul explained the critical role we all have in the faith process:
“Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (verse 17, KJV). As
we declare God’s Word to others, they will hear, and they will believe. Keith
Butler
#892 Look for
opportunities to share the Word of God. Your declaration of faith could bring
someone else into faith, too. Keith Butler
#893 God does not play
favorites. It’s God’s will for you to be healed. Period. You saw it happen in
Jesus’ ministry, when He was surrounded by multitudes of people, and He “healed
them all” (Luke 6:17-19, KJV). Gloria Copeland
#894 God said, “I will
take sickness away from the midst of thee...the number of thy days I will
fulfil” (Exodus 23:25-26, KJV). He says in Psalm 91:16, “With long life
will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation” (KJV). Gloria Copeland
#895 God has always
provided healing for the obedient. Psalms 103:2-3 (KJV) says, “Bless the
Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine
iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.” Many have forgotten God’s benefit of
healing for their bodies. Gloria Copeland
#896 If you had been
taught that it is God’s will to heal you in the same way that you were taught
that it is God’s will for you to be saved, you would have a different attitude
toward sickness. You are “born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible,
by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever” (1 Peter 1:23, KJV). You
are healed the same way—by the incorruptible seed of the Word of God. Gloria
Copeland
#897 Renew your mind to
this truth by planting the Word in your heart. See that Jesus bore your
sicknesses and carried your diseases at the same time and in the same manner
that He bore your sins. Plant the Word in your heart today and believe it: God
wants you well! Gloria Copeland
#898 The Apostle Paul
wrote, “Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God,
which is in thee by the laying on of my hands” (2 Timothy 1:6, KJV). Notice,
Paul didn’t say to pray and get God to stir you up. He said, “You stir yourself
up.” Kenneth Copeland
#899 So many Christians
desire to operate in the gifts of the Spirit these days because they’re
responding to the stirring of God’s gifts within them. They sense the Church
shouldn’t just be reading about the manifestations of the Spirit in the Bible,
but rather, Christians should be walking in them! Kenneth Copeland
#900 So, how can we make
that happen? Paul answers that question himself. Right after he tells us to
earnestly covet the best spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12:31), he says, “…and
yet show I unto you a more excellent way” (KJV). Then, he writes an
entire chapter—on the subject of love. Kenneth Copeland
